Ulcerative colitis/crohn's disease Help me out with my RISE Fundraising

Hello everyone!

If you have a few minutes, please, take a moment to watch this video; http://www.cdhf.ca/video/cdhf_video_Conquering_UC.html

I am taking part in a true Canadian adventure this coming February. It’s called RISE – Conquer the Great Divide and I’d like you to join me!

My goal is to spend two days in the Canadian Rocky Mountains completing the following events:
1) Driving a dog sled team in the Spray Valley
2) Bush whacking a trail through the forests of Lake Louise on snowshoes
3) Summiting the famous Ha Ling Mountain (formerly China Man’s Peak) and,
4) Cross country skiing over the Continental Divide.

I am one member of a national team raising funds for the Canadian Digestive Health Foundation (CDHF). I have take over the challenge of raising $25,000. I would love for any of you to join me and be part of the RISE team but if you can't, i would appreciate enormously if you can help me reach my fundraising goal by sponsoring me. You will receive a official tax receipt from the CDHF for your donation! If you arent canadian, there might not be any tax receipt??? but this is for a good cause and your help would mean so much to me!

You can sponsor me on-line at: http://www.gifttool.com/athon/MyFundraisingPage?ID=1286&AID=402&PID=41756

thank you for your time and support!!!!

on a training point of view, i m trying to move everyday for 90min. The body is still not responding normaly but i will be patient and try to figure out what i can do to get back on the right path. This as been one hell of a challenge over the past 6 months... make you realise how nice and lucky we are when healthy!

That's cool..I'm looking for some last minute "tax relief" so hopefully the IRS in the US will accept it without an audit. It's doesn't hurt that it's a good cause as well.

Hi Jonathan,
I wanted to get a hold of you and figured your blog might be the easiest way! I too am a competitive athlete and was diagnosed with IBD two years ago (IBD non specific I guess). Needless to say the last two years have been an emotional roller coaster.... testing drugs, diets, trying to not let the stress of the disease make it worse, it leaves me feeling lost and alone.
I too have a fund raising goal for 2009. I am going to venture into triathlon and have set my sights on the Calgary Ironman 70.3 (I figure with a running and cycling background it will put me in good standing!). I am going to use my training journey as a platform to promote the CCFC as well to educat people about this disease.

Reading your story and following your blog provides me with hope and courage that it is possible to train at an elite level with this disease.

I was wondering if we might be able to chat, via email, about everything from food (I have an allergy to raw fruits and veggies which sets of the stomach.... so much for sandwiches for lunch!) to training to treatments. I really just need some direction from someone who has been and is there and can relate. My email is amy.woodward@shaw.ca.

Thanks in advance!

Amy Woodward

It is rather interesting for me to read the blog. Thank you for it. I like such themes and everything that is connected to them. I definitely want to read a bit more on that blog soon.
